World War One Memorial
This institutional architecture monument, designed by Kimmel Studio, was shortlisted as a finalist for the National War Memorial
Kimmel Studio's expertise in institutional and monument architecture shone through in this classical and evocative design. In a crowded field of 350 entries, it emerged as one of the finalist 5 in the open competition. Notably, it was the only traditional design chosen and captured the hearts of the public, winning the "people's favorite" vote by a landslide (over 50%). The proposed location for this national tribute sits just blocks from the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C.
