Here are some questions we hear often.
-
So many things!
First, you will be able to visualize the design both through hand-drawn sketches and through 3D videos and images.
This combination is pretty unique in the design world, where normally you find either old-fashioned firms that do not know the latest visualization technologies or firms that can only work on certain very specific programs and keep copy-pasting the same designs and details over and over again. Our methodology combines the best of good old-fashioned pencil and pen work with the latest visualization technologies.
Second, few firms will be able to design your buildings, interior spaces, and gardens at the same time. We can do that because we are a team of both architects and landscape architects
Also, we are great team players. We are known for how well we collaborate with contractors, interior designers, historians, and other stakeholders.

As architects, landscape architects, and interior designers, our "whole site" approach ensures all projects have the environment in focus. A few examples include:
Siting each building for natural lighting, reduction of solar gain, and minimal impact on the environment.
Technologically advanced insulation of the building envelope.
High-efficiency windows.
Geothermal heating.
Ventilation systems designed for efficient heating and cooling.
Energy-efficient lighting and appliances.
Alternate power sources such as solar power or wind power.
Non-synthetic, non-toxic materials.
Locally-obtained and responsibly-harvested woods and stone.
Adaptive reuse of older buildings.
Use of recycled architectural salvage, including reclaimed wood.
Efficient use of space.

Our main strength is that we listen. A well-designed building materializes the needs, thoughts and desires of the people who will inhabit it. We have accomplished our mission when the client looks at the design and thinks: yes, this is me. To achieve this, we engage in active listening, and we encourage our clients to become active members of the design team. It is their project. Our designs are highly personalized to meet the needs of each individual client.
