Mary Holley
AIA, NCARB
Senior Associate
Mary’s 35 years of experience in bespoke single and multi-family residential, mixed-use, and light commercial architecture has taken her from the slopes of Aspen Mountain to Annapolis’ wind-swept Severn River.
Passionate about pushing the interface of architecture and construction and re-imagining how beautiful design is approached, she uses her extensive understanding of the design and construction process to create individually tailored, innovative solutions. Having amassed a vast repository of knowledge concerning how building codes, systems, and materials can make a difference in the execution of beautiful projects, Mary believes in transforming what many view as problems into opportunities for extraordinary design.
She is licensed as an architect in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey, Washington D.C., and Colorado and is always looking for new opportunities to improve as an architect, leader, and mentor.
Before joining Kimmel Studio, Mary ran her own company, providing full-service architectural and interior services for various luxury projects in Aspen, Snowmass, and Carbondale, Colorado. Her recent experience includes establishing and subsequently directing the architecture department for an off-site custom building manufacturer focused on large-scale residential development, as well as heading the architectural division of a design-build firm concentrating on high-end single-family residences in Washington D.C. and Bethesda, MD.
Originally from Southern California, Mary received her Bachelor of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University. In addition to practicing architecture, Mary enjoys a variety of disparate activities such as fly fishing, cooking, gardening, playing ice hockey, and food preservation. She has dry-cured sausage in the dishwasher and spent many minutes in the penalty box.
