Christopher Cabrera

Studio Directo

Christopher thrives at the intersection of engineering, design, and human interaction. He is passionate about creating projects where mechanical components enhance functionality, seamlessly integrating movement and structure. Whether it's a dynamic retail display or architectural millwork with moving parts, his fascination with engineering extends beyond aesthetics. He appreciates the mechanics behind objects and how they shape our daily experiences.

With a background in Business Administration from Radford University and coursework in Architectural Engineering at Virginia Tech, Christopher has developed a unique skill set that bridges technical precision with project management expertise.

Outside of work, Christopher is always seeking adrenaline-fueled experiences. As a licensed skydiver with nearly 300 jumps, including from helicopters, he embraces precision and risk. He’s equally passionate about motorcycles and custom car builds, bringing the same engineering curiosity to his projects as he does to his professional work. A dedicated coffee enthusiast, he owns over ten different brewers and always refines his perfect cup.

Christopher’s favorite building is the Long Museum (West Bund) in Shanghai, where industrial heritage meets contemporary architecture. The museum’s use of raw concrete and extruded metal resonates with his appreciation for materials that reveal their structural and mechanical integrity. For Christopher, design isn’t just about form, it’s about function, movement, and the seamless integration of mechanics into our everyday world.
